    I agree with the above. Also get the EST prior to and if possible with the range. Docs, Nurses and allied health specialists don’t range often. They typically are the least comfortable with weapons. The EST is an outstanding marksmanship tool. You can do all the PMI aspects in a safer environment, develop familiarity with the weapon and even run through a couple of qual ranges before you get there.

    As a matter of policy if a solider hasn’t zeroed with 18 rounds I send them to the EST for remedial training.

    To successfully qualify your center of gravity will need to be the zero range. If you’re zero isn’t good then all you will do is waste time and rounds.
