Generally speaking, as long as your actions don’t appear to represent the Army as a whole or otherwise disclose Army things, you’re okay. Regs probably say different, but it’s the same ethical principle as attending a political rally in civilian clothes vs in uniform. Also important to remember: government service doesn’t make you an authority on even the branch you serve in (Executive), let alone those you don’t (Legislative, Judicial).

On a more personal level, I’ve tried a social media blackout twice so far, and it always wound up with friends and family needlessly more stressed. I recommend participating in a limited fashion, such that people who care about you know that you’re alive and happy.
