I would say that Game of Thrones has many valuable lessons to be learned. Very often, the show juxtaposes very different Leaders and the consequences of their choices.

Specifically, The Battle of the Bastards shows a good juxtaposition between Ramsay Bolton and Davos Seaworth while they make decisions on whether to fire arrows (ah yes, an indirect fire capability, right?). Ramsay fires, while Davos does not because he will “just kill his own men”. Or, when Jon Snow is on his horse and watches as Rickon Stark runs toward Jon from the Bolton’s, and Tormund Giantsbane (the Wildling character) says “Don’t”, just before Jon Snow charges. I am pretty sure NCOs have said this with regards to their officer’s decisions from time to time. Or how Davos manages the army in lieu of their “commander”, similar to an XO or 1SG (“Prepare to charge”) and then says “Go, Go, Follow *your* commander”
