I posted Schofield Barracks, HI out of West Point and I have no regrets. I was one of those cadets who married soon after graduation so it was something that I decided with my wife as a team. I think it was a great unit and location for the place we were in our life. We currently have children and that is absolutely impacting our posting decision making (as it should).

Number 1 piece of advice I have is this – make the best of where you are wherever you end up. Make the best decision you can, AND THEN make the best OF your decision. After Schofield Barracks we posted to Fort Drum, NY to do my CPT/Command time. It was the complete opposite climate of Hawaii, but we thrived just the same by connecting with people and finding activities that Fort Drum offered.
