I am beginning a battalion library/learning center specifically for junior soldiers and leaders. I am also developing a digital forum similar to this where we post articles, videos, and podcasts for self-development. The ultimate goal once this is established is to form a team to create a professional journal specific to our battalion. As a former NCO, I understand how intimidating it can be to write. I want to give my NCOs a platform where they can hone their writing skills and develop confidence so they can submit articles for Army wide publications. It also provides our unit with an excellent source of innovation, ideas, and perspective from soldiers and NCOs who may not always voice their recommendations. My CSM is on board and is a huge proponent of writing so I am hoping to garner more support from across our formation.
