Great question and I appreciate that you mentioned a book that is outside of the military realm. Another book that was influential was Jim Collins “Good to Great”. My favorite line in the book (and one that I stole for my command philosophy, “<span style=”font-family: ‘Times New Roman’,serif; font-size: 12pt; mso-fareast-font-family: ‘Times New Roman’; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA;”><span style=”color: #000000;”>All companies have a culture, some companies have discipline, but few companies have a culture of disciplined initiative.” It really helps leaders to become that transformational leader.</span></span>
