Hello everyone!

I am currently a third year cadet at West Point. We are constantly being taught how to lead soldiers in the field, but we never really learn how to help soldiers with non-military related problems such as a bad marriage, divorce, alcohol abuse, economic issues, depression, etc. What advice would you give to a new PL when facing these types of problems for the first time?
