    When it comes down to the point of “the decision” to either stay or get out, many solid officers are choosing the former. Won’t this hurt the organization in the long run?

    I will admit that this appears to be a significant issue for the USAR.  Retaining mid-grade officers is a challenge.  As a result, nearly every Company in my brigade is commanded by a 1LT.
