I agree that the exact wording of emotional intelligence is not verbatim within the leadership development spectrum and it’s structure. However, like you said it is reworded and conveyed through other ideologies. The idea of measuring something that is intangible such as emotional intelligence sounds almost impossible. To measure this would have to be done through a longitudinal study overtime and how certain leaders react to different stimuli under pressure, and throughcommand climate surveys. As far as a good leader goes and their emotional intelligence. I do not think that a good leader necessarily has well balanced emotional intelligence, a good leader may be able to get the job/mission done but may not take into consideration the welfare of his/her soldiers and have little understanding for mishaps. On the other hand, A great leader is able to foster cohesion, emotional intelligence and is able to perform under uncomfortable situations while always keeping safety and welfare of soldiers as priority.
