S4: How did the enemy exploit sustainment weaknesses to contribute to the US withdrawal to the Pusan Perimeter?

The North Korean People’s Army (NKPA) used the elements of surprise and audacity to deliver a devastating blow to the Republic of Korea Army (ROKA). Not only where the ROKA completely taken by surprise by heavy artillery fire and tanks, but they also failed to retrograde in an organized fashion. The NPKA were able to capture a great amount of rations, munitions, and vehicles that were left behind by the ROKA forces. The US and ROK forces were led into a false sense of security and were not ready to react to an all out offensive. This can be clearly seen by the behavior of the Soldiers right before the war started. As well as the acts of desperation to try and stop the NKPA advance by destroying the Hangang Bridge. The US and ROK forces were simply not able to keep up with the NPKA advance, due to lack of preparation. The NPKA were able to exploit this weakness and gain great amount of supplies and land on the first months of the war.
