9 months of company command so far and in that time we’ve had a new battalion commander, battalion sergeant major, battalion executive officer, battalion S3 and brigade command sergeant major. We have a running deck of slides for the Quarterly Training Brief (QTB) with backup slides that we are continually updating. Add in a couple “lines of effort” and “initiatives and issues” slides and you’ve got a good amount of material to talk about where the organization has been and where it’s going. Each of these transitions went quite smoothly from my perspective, so I’m not really sure if that’s a function of “best practices” or just having great people that can adapt to challenges.
