HAMMER: As UN forces marched north, there was evidence of the Chinese joining the conflict. Despite the evidence, General MacArthur and his staff believed “the Chinese would not dare intervene” They assessed that they lacked the Military capability to bring significant forces into the conflict and even if that was possible the US air superiority would make quick work of them. What do you think we are “wishing away”? What are capability or piece of equipment are we putting too much reliance on?
As intelligence professionals, we work in the “educated guess department” and are “30% right, 100% of the time”. The only way to confirm or deny if our educated assessment is through vetted intelligence collected through means of IMINT (UAS), MASINT, HUMINT, SIGINT, etc. Oftentimes, we put great reliance on UAS collection and One System Remote Video Terminal (OSRVT). However, these high tech equipment are vulnerable to commo and radar jamming (reference what happened to BJ UAS at NTC). So what happens when we get jammed? Unfortunately, Scouts cannot physically be anywhere, anytime. How can we collect intelligence when these high tech collection assets are down? How is the enemy exploiting this weakness? Reference recent OSINT on commercial drones being used by our adversaries.
