S3: What warfighting functions contributed most to Americans’ continual defeat and withdrawal to the Pusan Perimeter in the summer of 1950? Answer generally or focus mainly on Task Force Smith for examples to support your analysis.

Intelligence, sustainment, and maneuver war fighting functions contributed most to the Americans’ continual defeat and withdrawal to the Pusan Perimeter. The North Korean army in being prepared for the war used their spies to know and understand the capabilities of the South Korean and American forces as a whole. They completely understood their weakness and exploited them knowing that they could out maneuver the forces they encountered and attack the sustainment operations of the defending forces. The DPRK knew they would have superior command and control being able to control fight as a whole rather then having multiple commands. Their maneuver forces focused attacks on communication and sustainment objectives to ensure it would cut of the ability of the defending units to out maneuver them.
