ABLE: What is your response to his tale of the Glousters, and how does that influence your perspective on the U.S. Army’s use of regimental affiliation?<b></b><i></i><u></u>

Gloucestershire Regiment, motto was “by our deeds we are known”, and by this motto it is clear that for the Glosters that they would before ever remembered  for their actions in the Korean war at the Battle of Imjin. Amazingly the Glosters who fought in the Battle with a little more then 700 men where able to defend their positions from an estimated 10,000 CFF troops long enough for the UN to reconsolidate a defense. The very heroic event immortalized the men and the name of the regiment into history by their fighting from Hill 235. US Armies use of regimental affiliation similar to the Gloucestershire Regiment has serves to further emphasizes the history, customs, and traditions of the Unit. It sets the expectations and standards for the future soldiers to serve by following in the footsteps of the men that have served before them.
