ABLE: What is your response to the steadfastness of MacArthur’s insistence on the Inchon landing? How does it change, had the mission gone otherwise?

War strategy is highly skilled risk mitigation. MacArthur’s attack, while successful, risked almost everything. Had he not been successful, it would have been a sure end to the conflict, with the North the clear victor. My feelings are the same, regardless of history. While I can appreciate his no-nonsense style, leading with an iron will to complete a mission, his arrogance eventually cost him his position and career. Had the attack been unsuccessful, he would have had a very difficult time rallying his troops for an additional attack.
