I agree they should learn leadership, tactics, etc, but they will get stuck behind their computers more than they will have leadership challenges. LTs need to be organized. Be in control of their computers. Get things from a green book to an action, a result. With this in mind:

LTs fail at time management more than they fail at leadership because they get additional duties, have to learn about supply, maintenance, ….. Save time on these = more time to apply leadership skill learned and get out of the office to see leadership in action.
