Very interested to see where this vote takes us. I see the “overload” issue more along the lines of formations choosing the right “requirements” to focus on. We live in a digital age, and DTMS is the “reality” for what training a formation has completed. Every QTB or Commander’s Dialogue, we discuss our training proficiency and ensure everything is properly updated. But the real issue with the overload is that there are hundreds of mandatory training requirements tracked through DTMS, and all are expected to be properly trained and updated. Meanwhile, there isn’t a DTMS tracking mechanism for Soldier proficiency with PMCS or whether or not they fully understand the Gunner’s station. These sorts of Soldier skills, which take time to train, aren’t nearly as “cleanly” reported in DTMS, but there are certainly 12 different entries for Resiliency skills. In a way, it makes sense, because you can be a go/no go at attending a resiliency class, but training for real proficiency in Soldier skills isn’t something that a task number and roster can complete.
