S3: Given the protracted conclusion of the war, who would you consider its winners in 1953? How about 2017?

In My opinion,  there was no winners of this war.  Just like what Craig said above,  the armistice is more or less a cease fire that has occurred for the better half of century.  the North Korean leaders and ideology, that started the war, remained in power and there was a clear line in the sand that draw as the border; that is about the extent of the end result in my eyes.   But,  looking at the larger picture because of the influence that the US has had on South Korea’s economy, their GDP has grown extremely significant in comparison to their neighbors to the north, and the US still is maintaining its presents in the pacific region of the world.    So with that being said,  we did reduce the treat to the north in 1953 and planted the seed of democracy, which has grown to what South Korea is now.  thus, we did win a couple small victories.
