    Armel,

I graduated from SBOLC last April, I know a few things have changed since then but for the most part they should be the same or similar. Before going to BOLC I didn’t do anything to prepare, I graduated college at the beginning of December and then reported to Augusta at the beginning of January. Things I wished I had done before BOLC were to get familiar with the 25 series MOS and what each one of them is responsible for, it would have helped me understand who would be operating what when we were talking about equipment.

BOLC was similar to college in a sense. Wake up and do PT, come back and do personal hygiene and eat, go to class, get released for lunch, come back for afternoon class and then usually you were released NLT 1700 most days. if you are TDY then you will be staying in an on post hotel. The majority of my class was in Ring Hall. I had my own room and bathroom and a small kitchenette with a microwave, sink, fridge and freezer.

I learned a lot in the course. The main thing I would say that I wish I would have done was gotten my security +. I could have spent more time outside of class and study halls. Especially if you are NG or Reserve that cert can help you with a civilian job and you’re getting it for free from the Army.

If you have any other specific questions feel free to reach out and I would be more than happy to assist.

    Good Luck,

    Kelsey
