I recommend “Moving Mountains” by GEN Gus Pagonis. It will get you totally amped for the job. I have a hard drive dedicated to old S4 stuff, including deployment loadout stuff. Let me see what I can dust off for you over the weekend.

In the interim, with the NTC rotation coming fast, I recommend you request from the outgoing and/or the BN/BDE S3 a copy of what they use(d) for the logistics rehearsal. The Log rehearsal is a bit like the Combined Arms Rehearsal, but different, and because it walks through a whole operation it’s the best way to get a snapshot of your responsibilities when supporting the fight.

The S4 hat carries a lot of responsibilities. You’ll need to talk to your BN XO or BN CDR about their priorities to determine where you put your efforts. Is it property consolidation? Maintenance? Deployment readiness? Fielding X or Y new stuff? Excess property? Eat the elephant one bite at a time.
