At the beginning of the twelveth chapter LT McDonough states, “Military leaders must weigh the effects of their decisions carefully because usually there is no turning back.” I would have to agree with him in saying this, especially in combat. As leaders, we are forced to make decisions as carefully as possible. However, we have to make them quickly sometimes. Therefore, it is crucial to know what you are doing because there are lives on the line. We will be put into situations which require a quick response; it is necessary to be ready to decide the best actions to take. I feel that going forward in training to become a leader in the Army this means that it is essential to take every opportunity possible to learn as much as possible to gain more confidence when for when we are placed in predicaments that require quick and careful decisions.  I believe that this sense of confidence in decision making should be present in every leader, and if not then they have no business leading.
