Logisticus – thank you for the great input. You mentioned some golden nuggets in here that I forgot to mention that I wish I would have done prior to taking the guidon.
1. An organized property book, hand-receipts etc are definitely critical. Do this to save yourself pain and time in the long run folks! I could have done better.
2. Company Soldier In-processing program. Some may have different views and it may depend on your unit’s capacity and installation norms. My Co in-processing program concept was to knock out mandatory training and “individual requirements” as @logisticus mentions. New Soldiers could not join their team, sections, or platoons prior to completing these requirements. This streamlined in-processing.
3. “Make a tentative plan you’ll discuss with your leaders when you first take charge.” This is great advice!!!
If able, can you share a document or reference to in-processing program? Also, stay tuned to talk about what “making a tentative plan.”
Thanks!
