Throughout my experience, I have never seen a company commander be so less involved with his company. This is what stood out to me. Finally after 20 chapters of trying to figure out where this CPT Moray was at he finally makes an appearance and I am less than impressed. His leadership style seemed that he was trying to compensate for his lack of presence. LT McDonough sees this too. Both of their leadership styles are completely different.

In this sense, I would have to disagree with you Holly. Just because his approach seemed to facilitate an “understanding” leadership role doesn’t mean that he was a leader. We’ve seen something like this in Band of Brothers when that LT leading the company on an assault mission failed to do so. Beforehand, he had a level of “understanding” with his leaders and let them run their platoon as they see fit. We all knew how that ended. His lack of presence throughout LT McDonough’s leadership was apparent and also his lack of leadership. As far as ‘rocking the boat?’ Perhaps he didn’t but perhaps he wouldn’t have had to if he had made himself known in the beginning of the LT McDonough’s leadership.
