For USAR Lieutenants the promotion to 1LT is nearly automatic so long as you meet the requirements and your personnel records reflect accordingly.

-18 months TIG as a 2LT

-Completion of BOLC, DA1059 in iPERMS.  Unfortunately, this document is submitted by the schoolhouse and may take several months to reflect.  If this is the case your promotion will be back-dated to the date you became eligible.

Otherwise the process is pretty straightforward and the unit doesn’t have any involvement in it.  Orders will post on your HRC records portal and you will get an e-mail notification.
