    Never be that leader who is held to a different lower standard. One should take the time to ensure your uniform is squared away, you are physically fit, and you carry yourself the way one should. There is nothing more annoying than knowing a soldier got chewed out for something his PL/NCO/or even CO also did.

     

    You cannot inspire discipline if you if you are not disciplined yourself.

     

    2. Peer leadership is hard. Basic rule of thumb is do not be a dick. If someone is messed up then address it politely off to the side. If they cannot or will not fix themselves then have some faith in the system. Commanders and specifically senior NCOs notice those officers and bring it up.  If they are doing some unethical, illegal, or moral than obviously immediately stop them, but if they are just being lazy and not willing to change trust the system after you politely intervene.
