Alrighty…time for my FRG Hat!
As an FRG leader right now, the best thing I received from my predecessor was the leader continuity book. Ours includes the IRS establishment letter, account access memos from the previous and present commander, Assumption of Command orders, position assignment MFRs, and monthly audits for the account from the Treasurer. We also have kept our memos/notices for transferring accounts to a new bank from last year (exactly when my spouse assumed command of the company).
The one thing that we’ve recently added to this was a current Phone Roster … that we had tested. No matter the unit you’re in (IBCT, MI, SC …. CONUS or OCONUS), you never know when you might need to get a hold of a Soldier or notify a Spouse. Checking and adding this roster really gets to the core mission of FRGs everywhere and helps with foundational practices.
Curious to hear what other best practices others have used!
