Leadership, what a loaded word. As junior officers the Army expects us to do it. As I think back to my OCS experience there is a lot about the day to day leading of soldiers that just doesn’t get covered.
I wish I had learned more about how to mentor soldiers. My job isn’t just about leading a mission but also about growing the soldiers I lead. But, I also wished I had learned more about how to be mentored. How to reach out and make meaningful mentor/mentored relationship.
So, what do you wish you learned and if you see something you can help answer, please offer some advice.
