Hi, Kate! Great question.  I can’t answer for Benning, but I think this will still give you a good general idea.

While not nearly as aggressive as Basic, yes, you will jump right in.  For AG school house, the first week is a urinalysis and APFT, along with ~1 day of intro briefs with chain of command, and the rest is baseline informal testing from the class leaders.  Also, expect a mixture of team building / assessments, as well a school tour.  You’ll have assignments that require a library mostly likely, so you’ll be shown where those resources are.

Example : for CCC, we had a very (too)  short period of time to assess and brief a Division OPORD to the class.  People were assigned roles and then we’re scrambled partway through their briefing, with a random student assigned to finish the brief with the other person’s notes.  It was exercise to see personality, stress levels, briefing styles and skills, and playing well with others.  That was partly how they divided us into smaller groups.
