I just wanted to pass on this blog post that I wrote about the differences between disruptive and dissonant leadership. I learned an important lesson about this early in my career but wished I had learned it earlier and passed it on to my platoon leaders.

During your time in the Army, you’ll be confronted by a number of challenges and problems. How you go about discussing them and trying to solve effects the level of success you are likely to have and the proportion of the organization that you have successfully rallied to your cause. Be disruptive, challenge the status quo, but don’t be a dissonant leader.
