Not too heavy at all, in fact, the trust you earn by “being there” for one of your troops is absolutely the thing that needs to be talked about.  It’s scary. And while the years of experience don’t always show it, you know more about what makes your Soldiers tick than you think. “Lead in” with your heart and be willing to listen more than talk. Listening is usually what they need most.  It’s not the sexy stuff Army commercials are about but it’s critical to building readiness by individual care and concern; a non-delegatable task as a leader.
