I’ve seen a lot of these come and go. The bottom line is that it’s going to be horrible for the Reserve Compo. The basic APFT is simple, but it’s supposed to be! With a minimum out put of resources and time, a commander can get a baseline as to the physical health of their element. It’s supposed to let you know if your Soldiers can survive the train up for combat, not actual combat.

Add all of these additional events, requiring specialized equipment, and now units have to schedule their training year around the test, instead of the other way around. So as I often do, with this new time and resource consuming “requirement,” what do we sacrifice? Weapons training? Vehicle training? Team/crew/squad proficiency lanes? This is now what I will have to decide as a commander.
