@Alex.Pytlar brings up brings up an excellent point with observing your NCO’s personality type.  Finding the complimentary style/type can really help to push a unit/team to greater success.  When I was a PL, my PSG was very extroverted and also presented a very verbally passionate personality.  To balance that, I took a much more reserved personality.  That does not mean I would not step in when necessary, because I absolutely would do that.  Our balance was something that we both fed off of.  Each of our styles in that unit had strengths and weaknesses.  Depending on the situation, we would decide which personality type was best to address that within the organization.  My PSG was truly amazing and we trusted each other completely.  Our styles allowed us to better lead our organization and make us more successful.

With that said, my next unit required me to be much more outgoing and to take a more leading and “extroverted” type role.  @Alex.Pytlar ‘s point is spot on when he said adapting to the situation is critical.
