Be Patient: When you’re new to a unit, there is nothing scarier than feeling alienated, misunderstood, and alone. My advice here is, be patient — if you’re a good leader, these feelings will dissipate.

This is a great article! I was the first Female Commander of 2138th FSC. Talk about a rough start, but through doing all of these things discusses here – I had an immensely successful tenure as Company Commander.

I think you’re on the right track pursuing experience in operations. My suggestion is take charge in heading up some knowledge management projects (refresh some SOPs/Policies, organize current data, start a page on IntelLink/HSIN, refine the TACSOP), knowing everything and anything about operations, and doing everything you can to stay active dur…[Read more]

I was an S3 for a BSB, we created a CP SOP for our company’s use – as a sort of TACSOP at the lowest level. I have attached it here for your use. I hope it helps.
