Past, Present, and Future Commanders,

A prominent leader in our profession once said, “The purpose of life is a life with purpose.” (1 point if you guess without using google) As the Company Command Forum Facilitator, my purpose is to engage and connect commanders (past/present/future) in meaningful conversations to improve the “personal and collective” effectiveness across the Army.  I am excited to join a long line of leaders that have been part of the Company Command Forum.

Why did I volunteer?

I truly believe in the forum’s vision of company-level officers connecting and engaging to improve effectiveness. By contributing and connecting leaders,  we improve our profession and improve our entire Army. As someone who analyzes other opposing forces, I believe it is forums such as this that distinguish our Army from others. More importantly, I personally benefitted from this forum during my command and believe it is my purpose to do so as well.

How can you contribute?

Well that’s easy. Have a question, comment, or a document to share with others? Feel free to post. Do you think your fellow commanders or others can benefit or provide input to the forum? Share and post.

What next?

My plan is to start from the preparation phase of command. I believe preparation and the first 90 days are key to commanding.  I also have interviews planned with current and post brigade, battalion, and company commanders. How do they see command in their respective roles?  Stay tuned for command interviews.
