AS an AGR for a CBRN company in IL Social Media has become one of the best mediums to engage a large audience. The previous team created the accounts as a way to effectively engage the community and family members. For any readers who are a part of a Reserve or NG unit one of the best things that you can do is get your sites authorized and made official by your COC. In our case both USAR and other entities recognize our accounts as an official Army endorsed page which really helps us make a larger impact. We view Social Media as an extension of our vision and mission and allows us to really develop a community from BA to BA. We are currently testing allowing a soldier to really develop the content and strategy of our platforms. It has been a way for us to give this SM buy in. Social media provides incredible opportunities for Reserve and NG to really build a legacy for their units that focus on communication and development.
Something I find exciting is that As jr leaders we are in a great spot to be able to harness the potential of Social Media as another tool to develop ourselves and those around us. I am curious to see how this continue to manifest with sites like this one. I spent 6 years enlisted before I became an Officer and think back on how create it would have been to have the amount of resources we have now as a young NCO. I look forward to implementing some of the tools and tactics everyone has shared in this thread. We welcome any feedback you may have on our social media account. Facebook has really been the site we get the most engagement with feel free to take a look and provide feedback.
