Hello all,
I am currently going through my aircraft qualification at “Mother Rucker” but have closely been following the roll-out of the new “Blended System Retirement.” Personally, I have been reading on it, doing the JKO training that is offered, and read the leader’s information that is being put out to be able to successfully answer questions of my soldiers and direct them to the right offices.
I am curious what is being done at FORSCOM units to help educate leaders and soldiers on the decision they are able to make. I will PCS and hit my first unit this summer and one of the things I know is that it can be easy to pass things off with the high OPTEMPO many see. I also know that my current unit has not even spoken of it. This is a choice that literally carries with each soldier for the rest of their life.
Are you, the leaders, sparking informal conversation? incorporating into quarterly counselings? letting higher level command take care of it?
I understand each unit may have different leadership approaches to how this is being handled but wanted to spark the discussion.
Stay safe and God bless,
Justin
