Agree with you and at the GO-level right now the talk is to find ways to give Captains more time to train their troops, which they are legally-bound to do.

I am not saying I did not do this as a commander, just that I don’t think I was ever able to give it the necessary depth it required, and thus the outcome of the training was ‘good’ training at best but not excellent. Funny thing, I prided myself in and thought I was a trainer, but more and more you are an administrator and time-manager as you said.

To caveat on your last sentence – if we report OBJ-T honestly, it might start to look like Subjective T. How do you circumvent NCOES, the list of unavailable and non-deployable Soldiers? I like the systems which are being put into place to give commanders exactly the ability to train more troops, but it will stay around 50-60% for a while I think.
