    An overall lack of intel was the biggest contributing factor to the US’s continuous defeat. The general consensus was that they were going to fight an under-trained, malnourished peasant force. On top of that mentality, US forces were severely depleted and under-trained. If they known what they were going up against, they could have better prepared. Additionally, constant training would have cycled out the old ammo.
