Overall, I’ve found the most valuable thing you can offer your Soldiers is your time. MAKE time to show them you appreciate them in a way that doesn’t distract or inhibit their ability to accomplish their mission/tasks. Spend the extra effort to find out what small but high-impact things can make their work experience more pleasant. I will run through walls for my current boss because of two things: 1. Taco Thursdays: every Thursday morning, without compromise, we all sit together and eat breakfast tacos while talking about the latest and greatest things going on (currently who will win the McGregor/Mayweather fight); 2. He takes the time to learn about my family and allows me the freedom to handle family business so long as I am accomplishing all his requirements.
