I can relate to your statement. That is how I feel when I take control to get something done because I have been waiting on it.

Best example was:

Back in 2015, my company was located in another building. When they move out to the building that we are currently in, they never turn in the old building. Leaving a two-floor building full of trash, PIIs, etc. Turning that building was one of the priorities when I took command. We are so short on personnel that I personally took the task of leaving work every day to stop by the building and take some of the trash out myself. Two of my NCOs join me after a few times of me going by myself, they end up accomplishing the rest, and the building was turned after three years.

I think sometimes we take control in situations that we shouldn’t, but that also show others that you care and that you are willing to get the mission done regardless of how difficult it seems.
