Michael posted such a good list of resources for you! I want to make a suggestion though- learn as MUCH as you can at BOLC! You’re going to be “drinking from the firehose” for a while. Know that you aren’t going to know everything when you get to your first duty assignment. Keeping an open mind and working hard with the suggestions above, on top of what you’re going to learn at BOLC is going to set you up for success. You will have staff and continuity in your first unit to assist you in learning the required documentation to take care of your Soldiers. There is only so much you can do to be proactive- you are in the right place HERE to get that mentorship too. Do not miss important topics at BOLC by being focused on the things you’ve already been told you’re not going to learn.
Like Ray said- read & write. Work on your leadership style and who you want to be when you’re placed in the front at your first unit fresh out of commissioning. Your first impressions will be far more valuable than learning how to fill out memos and duty rosters. ALL of us went through this and the bulk of it is going to be OJT.
