NCOER Duty Descriptions and Assignment Info
When putting together evaluations for your NCOs, you want to make them as doctrinal as possible to ensure they\’re progressing and are rated by the same standards as other NCOs across the NCO Corps. In order to facilitate this, there are some tools you want to have open when you\’re working with a subordinate NCO building their support form, or putting together their NCOER. Two are discussed here.
1) DA PAM 600-25, U.S. Army Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Guide, which explains the assignments, major duties, future schools relevant to the current and next grades, and goals for development for NCOs by MOS and rank. This helps to focus rater comments to things the NCO SHOULD be doing for their rank/position, and assists senior raters to focus their comments to future positions and schooling that are relevant to that NCO.
2) Enlisted CMF Community Pages on the Army Career Tracker (ACT). See the attached how-to, which will explain how to find detailed duty descriptions that are broken down by CMF, MOS, and then Grade. The descriptions include recommended positions, both in the operating and generating forces, for the NCO in their current and future grades.
