Having seen some officers come to our unit from the Reserves it was a change. Most were not ready mentally and physically for the everyday challenge of doing “it” everyday. We had one officer that basically showed up and couldn’t hack it and ended up working at BDE in some BS position. Also had another officer that did not know what an FSC was in a logistics unit. In a high optempo unit there is unfortunately little time to bring someone up to speed with small issues like that. I would also keep it close to your chest of being Reserve. Active side myself included has a perception that unfortunately is usually true about Reserve officers. Start to understand your position and try reaching out to talk to some folks about it. This forum is a great place for that.
