I would agree. Looking back on the Petroleum Water officer course or the Support Operations course that would have kept me at Ft. Lee two months longer would have been cool. The new unit said no we need you. I may have a chance for those schools later but at the end of the day the unit will trump all. I agree with Jeff in that if you get there first you may have a shot for the first PL job that opens up. That will curtail and un-needed staff time if you are a LT or a CPT. They did need me as I was one of three CPT’s that needed to start working on NTC preparation for the upcoming rotation. It was a trial by fire that I hated at the time but it helped me realize what they had in store for me later.
