Intro to EES – What YOU need to know, Mixed with some Eval Basics (Class for Drill)
The attached class is for an LPD class, given to NCOs and Officers in a National Guard BN. It is a basic class that can be taught in 30-45 minutes by a half-way knowledgeable instructor. It is broke down into sections; References, Navigating EES, Responsibilities, Creating an OER/NCOER Support Form, Creating an OER/NCOER, The Evaluation Process, Assigning Delegates, “Profiling” and Rater/SR Profiles, Types of Evaluations, Major Issues, Questions (with web locations of guides and trackers that have been created).
By basic, I mean it’s VERY basic, but full enough to give people (2LTs…) who feel overwhelmed by the new system a good idea on how to use it, what they can do as the Rated NCO/Officer to make things run smoother, as well as give them some idea of what the process should look like. I tried to boil down to the essentials of what an NCO and Officer needs to know about how to use EES, as well as to answer some questions that many of my subordinates and peers have regarding rater and senior rater profiles; delegates; issues causing evals to be returned; etc.
NOTE: There are some policy and guidance that is specific to my BDE and BN, so feel free to cut them out of your own class if you want to use the class for your own purposes.
