The second best job in the Army next to a commander is the XO. I’ve been fortunate enough to do it at the Company and Battalion level. Its a amazing place to learn, influence, and learn the sacred working relationship with the First Sergeant.
PLEASE.. reach out to me if you have any questions.

After BOLC and Ranger School I donned my maroon beret and every day there was something new to learn. My first Army experience was awesome and the culture of the Division and my…[Read more]

Last month I started a program with my Staff Duty where I gave them a Leadership article to reflect and write about. It was awesome to see the perspectives of Staff Sergeants and Sergeant First Class, but at times it came at a cost where some NCOs did not see the worth of the exercise.
I shared the responses with my Command Sergeant Major which…[Read more]

I was really happy to see this article. First, leaders need to make writing a priority in their units. Articles aside, the Army requires leaders to write memorandums, performance evaluations, award citations, etc. Upholding high writing standards help subordinate leaders become stronger and more confident writers.
Second, we (officers)…[Read more]

Attached is an administrative convoy brief format that I use whenever I’m the convoy CDR of any movement. It works well if you print it two-sided and laminate it.

jkadel,
Unfortunately, it can’t be cropped after it has been uploaded. However, if you go to your profile and choose the Profile tab, then Change Profile Photo, you can upload the picture again and crop it once it is uploaded.

BLUF: How much personal time should we require or expect from our M-DAY/Traditional National Guard and Reserve Soldiers to spend on Military Business? When does implied sacrifice required for service and position, become cheap labor? When is “enough,” enough?I’m an Officer in the CA Army Guard, and was a PSG and…[Read more]
