Vanessa, sorry for piling on late. I brough a senior rater philosophy to my organization. If its not too late, ask what the SR philosophy is. In my case it had more to deal with team work, innovation, and ability to grow. Things like APFT and performance were expected.

Ab, so often we want to overlook some Army traditions because they take up time or  could be seen as bothersome. Like you’ve seen, its about farewelling the outgoing leader and welcoming the new one– and both sets of leaders are grateful for it.
