Gabe,
What a great question and thank you for discussing this topic. It is significantly harder to bring change to an organization than most people recognize. As a company commander I have found that subordinates do not want to change when/if they do not understand why they need to change.
As a leader, it is your responsibility to establish…[Read more]

Pat,
Here’s a good discussion that @perkinsjm posted a while ago about implementing combat-based PT into our unit physical training plans.
In a combat focused branch or unit it seems as though this would be most useful in terms of making PT plans.

Obviously not every single change is harmful and most are…[Read more]

Attended Branch briefing today. I got some good information about how BRADSO and branch selection works.
-
I felt as if it was one of the better briefs we have been to. @jayleene27 , what do you think about it?
-
I like how realistic the speaker was, but it’s the same branch brief we get every year
-
-
Are you going to BRADSO?
-
I think that I may for Signal if that remains my first choice, but I feel like I won’t know until I am looking at the branch preferences for the last time @jayleene27

Pat,
Empower your NCOs to create a plan that fits their Squad/Team. You pay them to lead so make them lead their Soldiers, especially at PT. As a PL, your job is to ensure your leaders are challenging their troops and making them better. Also, like any plan, double check it and make sure it makes sense. If a squad is struggling with their run…[Read more]
