When I was deployed last I planned and executed a battalion Hail and Farewell and wanted to be sure to pass along the products and information that I put together.
It is composed of the following documents/products:
Hail and Farewell Pass-On Instructions and Enclosure 1
Enclosure 2; IPR Slides
Enclosure 3; Example RSVP/Tracking list

Attached is an administrative convoy brief format that I use whenever I’m the convoy CDR of any movement. It works well if you print it two-sided and laminate it.

I had a conversation earlier with a friend/peer and wanted to share the meat-and-potatoes of it here. In short, there is something that many officers (and NCOs) might miss when they are putting their support forms together; their activities and contributions here on Junior Officer, Milsuite/Milbook, and or any online professional media/forum.
Do you contribute? Do you add content that others then use? Have you been commended by someone who has used what you put together? Then guess what! You are extending your influence beyond the chain of command (DA 67-10-2 block d2, DA 67-10-1 block c.4, and DA 2166-9-1/-2 block f).
How about making comments and giving people feedback in order to solve their problems or make their product better (mentoring and coaching them…)? Maybe you asked a question, or took the time to read an article that was recommended in order to bring yourself up to speed in an area you are not quite comfortable with. If so, then that’s “Prepares Self, Develops Others,” and comments on them can be made in DA 67-10-2 block d2, DA 67-10-1 block c.5, and DA 2166-9-1/-2 block g.
Now, your level of contribution might be something that strengthens a PROFICIENT(or ECEEDS THE STANDARD on an NCOER), or might even go beyond and be that quantifiable comment that secures your EXCELS (or FAR EXCEEDS on an NCOER) box check.
Just some ideas.

Brock,
Great tool! Totally giving this link to my Cadets.
But, if I ever have to go to milsuite ever again, I will cast lightning serpent, roll a 2d12, and attack it with my dragon army. ‘A crackling bolt of lightning springs from your hand and leaps at a foe, taking serpentine form as it strikes.’
‘Long live the Grassroots forum!’
cheers,
Mike

Thanks for the awesome example!

I’m glad it will work for you. If you see something that needs to be updated, let me know.
-
All, since Junior Officers will also be writing or Senior Rating NCOERs, I added my NCOER Guide as well for everyone to use.
-
Perfect timing; I’m writing my support form now and rating three NCOs. Thank you!

I am just completing a tour in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, where I had the privilege to deploy as platoon leader of a motivated band of Soldiers and NCOs. Our mission was detention operations. Our charge was to maintain care, custody, and control of America’s enemies that were detained in the maximum-security facility here. In…[Read more] - Load More
